Michael Brix, art historian and professor at the Munich University of Applied Sciences. Received a doctorate on Baroque festive decoration of the Habsburgs. Long-term engagement in the State Office for the Preservation of Historical Monuments in Bavaria; here he edited the volume ‘Niederbayern’ from the work Handbuch der deutschen Kunstmäler for the publisher Dehio. Numerous other publications include: Historismus in Deutschland; Lübeck und Nürnberg im 19. Jahrhundert; Landschaftsplanung im Altmühltal (Main-Donau-Kanal); Walker Evans: America; Maria Callas.
