Voigt, Stefanie

was born in 1969 in Ansbach, Germany.

Having studied art education, history of art, German studies, history and philosophy at the University of Bamberg, Germany, she worked as a graphic designer.

She used a scholarship from the University of Bamberg to gain her PhD in psychology with the prize-winning thesis ‘Das Geheimnis des Schönen’ (‘The Secret of the Beautiful’).

Besides working as a painter and harp player, she has supervised academic courses on aesthetics at different universities since 2003.

With an HSP III scholarship she completed a post-doctoral project on the psychology of the sublime.

In 2011, she concluded her habilitation in cultural studies at the University of Koblenz, Germany.
