Kovalevski, Dr. phil. Bärbel

Born 1937, studied museology in Weißenfels and history in Berlin; doctorate in Greifswald, Institute for Art History. Over 20 years as research assistant and director at the Güstrow City Museum; research assistant for 20th century art at the Museum für Deutsche Geschichte Berlin. From 1988 freelancer at Seemann-Verlag (AKL). 1991-1996 lecturer for art and cultural history at the HTWK Leipzig. Since 1992 her research has concentrated on the life and work of women artists of the Goethe period.
